21+ Ticket Events

If your organization is selling tickets to a wine tasting, beer festival, or other event that is only open to attendees over 21, you can now specify that when setting up your ticket levels.

Our system complies with COPPA (Children’s Online Privacy Protection Act). If your ticket event collects personal information for ticket holders, you will notice a check on whether the ticket holder and/or purchaser is a minor (under the age of 18).

When the box is checked to indicate that the ticket holder is a minor, data such as email address, physical address, phone number and DOB will not be collected.

If your event is 21+ and you do not want to show the minor check since your purchasers are all over 21, you can enable the setting for “Is this ticket level 21 years and older only?” when you set up ticket levels in the Event Wizard >> 2. Ticket Groups.

Because this is enabled at the ticket level, you have the flexibility to include kids’ tickets with the appropriate COPPA minor verification in addition to 21+ tickets that do not have COPPA verification by using multiple ticket levels.

Note that they system will not verify that the ticket holder is 21+ based on age or DOB unless personal information is collected. This can be set up in the Ticket Wizard >> 3. Purchase.

When per-ticket information such as age and/or DOB is collected, the system will automatically verify that each ticket-holder is above 21.

Of course, if your organization is hosting an event with alcohol, you are ultimately responsible for checking ID’s at the event.
