AWS had fairly major issues that impacted services like Eventbrite. Delta, Disney, Uber, Snapchat and even banks like Lloyds were impacted.

The good news is that our high availability design with failover across multiple AWS regions and data centers proved to be successful. Our systems failed over from the failing services in AWS US-East. So transactions continued to flow smoothly:

And we recovered automatically when things got backed up:


We are pleased the investments we have made in our infrastructure and reliability are helping our customers even when things beyond our mutual control happen. And we are not perfect. We have had 6 minutes of downtime since 2015.
