Flex Tickets for Calendar Based Events

Calendar-based events can unlock new revenue by offering Flex Tickets. TicketSignup now lets events set self-serve ticket transfer rules by ticket type to make this possible without adding work for your team.

Sell Flex Tickets at Higher Price Points

Flex Tickets offer real value: the ability to switch to another available date or time. Customers pay more for that convenience, especially for seasonal or limited-capacity events. With ticket-type-specific transfer rules, you can:

  • Allow free transfers for Flex Tickets.
  • Block transfers or add transfer fees for GA tickets.
  • Position Flex Tickets as the premium option with built-in flexibility.

Your event can set these rules by going to Tickets >> Ticket Management >> Ticket Transfer. You must enable overall transfer rules. For example, transfers can occur until the end of a time slot for $10 (note that system prevents checked in tickets from transferring).

Then you can set rules by ticket type at the bottom of the page. For Flex Admission tickets, you can allow transfers until the last possible date. You can also set a custom fee (for example, $0).

You can also prevent ticket transfers entirely for a ticket type.

Self-Serve Transfers Eliminate Overhead for Flex Tickets

Attendees complete transfers on their own from their confirmation email, email marketing, or TicketSignup profile. Staff don’t have to update orders, adjust time slots, or answer “Can I move to Friday at 8 PM?” emails.

If you don’t allow transfers for some ticket types, they will see a message that transfers are not allowed. If you charge a fee, that transfer fee (plus any price differences) will be charged when they change dates & time slots. In addition, you can allow ticket upgrades from GA to Flex tickets.

Built for Calendar-Based Events

This feature supports farms, attractions, haunts, holiday events, sunflower fields, pumpkin patches, and any experience that sells date- or time-based tickets. Flex Tickets help these events:

  • Increase revenue
  • Reduce support volume
  • Maintain capacity limits
  • Improve customer satisfaction

Transfer rules by ticket type make it easy to introduce premium options without complicating operations.
