Collect Optional Attendee Emails with Online Waivers

Every attendee waiver you collect represents a real person coming to your event. Until now, the only email address tied to that ticket purchase belonged to the purchaser (unless you chose to collect email per ticket). If one person bought ten tickets, you typically had one email for ten guests.

Attendee waivers can now collect an optional email address when each attendee signs online. Your purchase path stays exactly as fast as it is today, and you get a new opportunity to grow your marketing list, one attendee at a time.

Turn It On in Your Waiver Setup

Go to Event >> Waiver/Refund Policy and edit your attendee waiver. Under Other Waiver Options, check the box for “Collect an optional email address when the attendee signs the waiver online.”

The option is available for all three online attendee waiver types:

  • Collect by Ticket Holder, the recommended option, with one shareable link and QR code per ticket purchase
  • Individual Ticket Links, a unique link for each ticket
  • Public Waiver Link, an open link anyone can sign

Checkout waivers do not use this setting, because you already capture the purchaser’s email during checkout.

What Attendees See

When an attendee opens the waiver link, an “Email (Optional)” field appears alongside the name and agreement fields. Attendees can fill it in or skip it and sign. Nothing about the field is required, so it never blocks a signature.

This mirrors the optional email collection your staff already uses in the free Ticket App for on-site waiver signing. Online and on-site waivers now work the same way, with flexible controls so that you can collect emails when it makes sense, and hide the field when you need to prioritize lines moving.

Find the Emails in Your Waiver Agreements Report

Collected addresses appear in the Waiver Email column of your Waiver Agreements report, under Reports >> Waiver Agreements. You can search the report by email, and you can pull the full list with Download CSV, which includes an Email column alongside the signer’s name, signed date, and ticket details.

Fast Checkout, Bigger Email List

Adding per attendee fields to your purchase path costs you conversions. Every extra field is one more reason for a buyer to abandon the cart, especially on mobile.

Attendee waivers move that data collection after the sale. The purchase stays short. The waiver, which your event already requires, does the work of capturing who is actually attending and how to reach them. For haunts, farms, festivals, and any event where one buyer brings a group, this turns a legal requirement into a marketing asset. Promote your next event, your season pass, or your off season programming to the people who walked through your gates, not just the person who paid.

Attendee waivers and email marketing are both included in TicketSignup’s $0.40 per ticket pricing. No add ons, no third party waiver subscription, no per contact charges.
