About the Redondo Beach Fourth of July Concert

Presented by Pike Properties and Keep the Esplanade Beautiful, the Redondo Beach 4th of July Concert was a family-friendly holiday celebration featuring Oingo Boingo Former Members and additional live performances along with food, beer, and wine. With simple General Admission and VIP ticket options, the concert made for a relaxed and joyful summer evening for all attendees.

Produced in partnership with Keep the Esplanade Beautiful and Village Runner, the concert was a new event for the organization team, making ease-of-use a high priority. The team had previously had a great experience using RunSignup for the Redondo Beach Super Bowl Sunday 10K/5K and decided to take a look at TicketSignup for the concert. The user-friendly software would allow them to get on their feet as quickly as possible.

When ticket purchasing opened, the concert provided two options: a standard general admission ticket, and a limited-quantity VIP ticket for a premium experience.

Consistent Branding

After a little trial and error, the concert settled on a professional look for their website that incorporated the unique logo of the Oingo Boingo Former Members while sticking to a red, white, and blue theme. The header image on their cover page is especially effective, set to display without cropping to ensure that the full image can be seen on any device.

The branding efforts didn’t stop with the website. The Redondo Beach Concert also sent out a several marketing and pre-event emails from the free and integrated email platform, all including consistent imagery, colors, and styles. The team particularly liked the flexible, customizable templates available in the updated email platform.

Expanding Their Email List

The Redondo Beach Concert enabled an email capture form, creating a pop-up on the website that would encourage visitors to leave their contact information. The pop-up automatically matches the style of the website, and the team was able to make a few quick customizations to the wording and timing of the email capture.

In a few short months, they collected 80 emails – 80 more people that they could use to market not only the 2023 event, but any future events. All at no cost and very little effort!

Emails from the capture form are automatically added to a custom list within the integrated email platform.

Better Data for Better Marketing Tools

As seasoned event marketers, the team behind the Redondo Beach Concert loved the easy access to reports and data on their dashboard. With Ticket Insights, they could easily take a look each day (or several times a day) to understand the status of the event and the success of their marketing tactics.

Custom Source Tracking

“I love source tracking. I’m obsessed with numbers and check them multiple times a day, so it’s amazing to be able to see the exact results from marketing actions.”

– Molly Taylor, Redondo Beach 4th of July Concert

To get more granular about marketing results, the Redondo Beach Concert used Custom Source Tracking codes. These underutilized tracking codes are simple to setup and allowed them to track the pageviews and purchases from individual marketing activities like Facebook Ads and email blasts.

For each marketing activity, they set up a unique tracking link to use. Then, they used that link (instead of their standard website link) within their Facebook ad or email blast. Then, they could see the number of pageviews and purchases tied to each link from both the Ticket Insights on their dashboard and from the Source Tracking Codes dashboard page. With this information, the team could make better decisions about where they should spend their marketing dollars.

Customer Service

At the end of the day, the most important feature for the Redondo Beach 4th of July Concert may not have been technology at all, but rather, the human interactions at TicketSignup. While they found the TicketSignup set up and management super simple, it was important to have an expert from the company to help with late changes and unintended errors.

“The customer service is outstanding. Whether we just had a quick question or needed help reversing a potentially bad error, Elisabeth was responsive and able to solve our problem.”

– Molly Taylor, Redondo Beach 4th of July Concert
