What is Calendar Based Timed Entry Ticketing?

Timed entry ticketing allows multi-day events and attractions to manage on-site traffic, optimize revenue, and create a better guest experience by selling tickets to a specific date and time window. For multi-day special events like haunts, light shows, and long-term repeatable experiences like agritourism, tours, zoos, garden centers, and workshops, calendar-based timed entry ticketing makes ticket purchasing and attendee management a breeze.

TicketSignup's timed entry ticketing in action

Why Your Ticketing Should Be Calendar-Based

Timed entry events can be a challenge to setup and manage. While platforms like Eventbrite and TicketSpice have a front-end calendar for ticket purchases, TicketSignup’s patent-pending MTE technology uses an efficient database to allow every step of timed entry ticketing setup, management, and purchase to be tied to a real calendar. Calendar-based timed entry means less time wasted on setup, easier changes mid-event, and more intuitive reporting.

Merch Sales

Increase your per-ticket revenue with integrated store capabilities to sell merch (and more) both during and outside of the ticket purchase path.

5 Easy Ways TicketSignup Helps Timed Entry Events Increase Revenue

1. Add-On Sales

Pre-sell merch items and add-on experiences (like skip the line, add-on attractions, or parking) during the ticket purchase path. Per-ticket revenue increases when each attendee buys a little more.

2. Bundled Tickets

Encourage buyers to add-on even more with bundled tickets that allow you to create VIP tickets that bundle things like add-on attractions and beverages with a ticket purchase.

3. Upgrades

Continue selling after the initial purchase. With TicketSignup, it’s easy to create an email drip-campaign to encourage ticket holders to upgrade their ticket to VIP or Skip-the-Line, or to simply pick up more merch.

4. Referral Programs

Incentivize your attendees to promote your event for you with automated referral rewards programs that can be setup to provide a refund to a ticket purchaser who sends you more business (according to the thresholds you set).

5. On-site Sales

Revenue generation continues on-site. Use QR codes to allow attendees to easily add additional items (like beverages or attractions) to their existing ticket and redeem it instantly.

How TicketSignup Solves Event Day Challenges

Unique events have unique challenges. Read about some of the creative TicketSignup solutions that have made event day easier for some of our timed entry customers. If these aren’t, your unique challenges, schedule a call with us to see what solutions we have for your event day.

Challenge: Manage Check-In at Multiple Attractions

Scaregrounds PDX needed to manage on-site traffic at three core attractions, as well as sideshows, to ensure every guests get access to each attraction once (and not more than once).

Solution: With TicketSignup, Scaregrounds set up their ticket options as bundles, with the three core attractions included in VIP and General Admission tickets and the All Access Pass including all attractions and side shows. On-site, each attraction used the free Tickets App configured for them to check in their specific attraction. For guests, their single QR confirmation code worked throughout the park; for staff, it was easy to track them at each attraction.

Challenge: Turn Wait Time in a Revenue Opportunity

The Haunted Forest wanted to eliminate queues and increase revenue by letting guests wait (and spend money) in their Graveyard area with food and drinks, without losing their place in line.

Solution: TicketSignup integrated with Waitwhile to offer virtual queuing. This meant that when guests checked in on-site, they were automatically added to a virtual queue. Then, they were free to wander the Graveyard, buying food and drinks and enjoying an accessible attraction until receiving an automated text notification that it’s their turn to enter the main attraction. More revenue, no wait.

“TicketSignup gave us the haunt ticketing software we needed. Calendar-based ticketing, Virtual Queuing, and the Ticket App worked together so smoothly that it transformed how we ran every night.
