Charm City Run

Customer Snapshot

  • # Ticket Events in 2024: 185 (to Date)
  • # Races: 2800 (so far)
  • Cost to Host Free Events: FREE

Charm City Run uses RunSignup to produce races for more than 30,000 participants each year. With TicketSignup, they recognized the opportunity to manage many of the hundreds of smaller events they host each year. These include training runs, fun runs, course preview runs, running clubs, and more.

Why We Love It:

Free Events are Free

Charm City Run is a specialty running shop, but it also strives to be much more. They work to inspire, support, and celebrate local runners, and to do so, offer a wide range of small events and training opportunities – some of which (like Coach Emelie’s Morning Runs) are free. By using TicketSignup for their free events, Charm City Run can:

  • Keep a rough count of expected attendees and have them sign a waiver.
  • Ensure that free events really are free. Since there’s no subscription fee and the cart total is zero, the event is truly free for both Charm City and their attendees.
  • Group together a series of events (like a month of morning runs) into a single ticket “event” so it’s easy for runners to sign up for one or all of the runs.
  • Keep simple, but consistent branding with Charm City’s brand colors, logo, and favicon.

With TicketSignup, Charm City Run can manage their large array of races, and ticket events (both free and paid) from a single platform. Easy for them to manage; easy for their community to sign up.

Summer Success

SnowyGrass Music Festival

Customer Snapshot

  • Event Type: Bluegrass Festival
  • Ticket Types: Single, Multi-day, VIP , Camping, and More
  • Tickets Per Purchase: 2.8
  • 1st Year on TicketSignup: 2024

Snowygrass is a 3-day bluegrass festival in Estes Park, Colorado offering the a full lineup of performances and opportunities to join in and contribute music. The festival began with a conversation in 2016; in 2024, it included more than a dozen acts and the opportunity to attend for a day or camp all weekend (or any combination). With an average of nearly 3 tickets per cart, it’s clear that this one is a social event!

Why We Love It:

Branding Consistency

Snowygrass has an established website that houses the majority of their content. But the look and feel of their ticketing site is still important to build continuity and give potential purchasers confidence that they’re in the right place. To do that, they:

  • The customized their logo, header image, and colors to match the branding on their main website. They even customized their favicon to their event logo!
  • They added a “Buy Tickets” button to their main website, and used website builder to add a link to the menu of their TicketSignup event site back to their website to ensure purchasers can navigate easily between the two.

Clear Check-In Communications

Snowygrass’s simple, direct email communications the day before festival kick-off helped attendees keep their check-in QR codes accessible.

  • They sent a specific, dedicated email just for the QR code. This meant attendees didn’t have to scroll to the bottom of a long pre-event email to find their QR code, or search for a months-old confirmation email.
  • They included a replacement tag with the attendees ticket summary as a reminder of exactly what they had previously purchased.
  • They added a replacement tag to add the tickets to Apple Wallet, making them even easier to pull up for scanning at the gate.

Upcoming Fall Events

8th Annual Downtown Watertown Wine Walk

Customer Snapshot

  • Number of Event Vendors: 18
  • Wristbands Available: 300
  • Years of the Event: 8th Annual
  • Tickets Sold on Opening Day: 33%

The Watertown Wine Walk is an annual event presented by the Watertown Area Chamber of Commerce and Johnsonville. The Wine Walk is a social event that combines shopping with wine tastings at various downtown locations.

Why We Love It:

Easy Purchase

Unlike some of the other events featured here, the Watertown Wine Walk has a very simple ticket setup: one ticket option for $38. To go along with that, the event makes sure that it’s quick and easy to purchase a ticket. Their purchase path includes:

  • Basic required information for the ticket purchaser and ticket holder, including just full name and email address. Bonus: if the purchaser is also the person using the ticket, the information can be filled in just once and copied over with a quick button.
  • One question for each ticket holder to make sure each person is 21+. While ID’s will be checked on site, the question provides a good (fast) reminder during the ticket purchase.
  • Apple Pay is enabled at checkout to allow purchase with just the click of a button.

Wisconsin Whiskey Festival

Customer Snapshot

  • Distillers: 35+
  • Discounted Tickets Available: When buying 5+ Tickets
  • Whiskies to Sample: 150+
  • Charity Partner: Bristlecone Charity

The Wisconsin Whiskey Fest invites enthusiasts for an evening of whiskey sampling, food, and entertainment. The event offers tickets for general admission, VIPs, and designated drivers (food only). The fully catered food menu is available throughout the event (included in the ticket!).

Why We Love It:

Price Incentives

Nothing motivates action quite like a financial incentive. The Wisconsin Whiskey Festival activates pricing in two very smart ways:

  • Group Incentive: Tickets are discounted when more than 4 tickets are bought together. Buying for 2 or friends? It’s probably worth inviting someone else to access the price break!
  • Time Incentive: Procrastination is the bane of event organizers. A price increase based on date encourages early buying!

Integrated Donations

The event isn’t only about the fun: the event is also collecting donations to support Bristlecone Charity, a volunteer-led nonprofit helping disadvantaged communities in Wisconsin. Donations can be made in three ways:

  • During the ticket purchase path, as an option alongside an explanation of the charity’s good work.
  • At checkout, via quick checkboxes (visible only to purchasers who did not add a donation on the previous step).
  • As a standalone donation, via the donate button. This is for anyone who wants to support but can’t attend, or who previously bought a ticket and wants to add their support after.
